My buddy was ridin some trails with me on sunday and he burnt up a bearing and welded a spacer to he axle. To get the wheel off we had to cut the axle in 3 places. we realized that the hub on the side where the bearing burnt up was worn a lil. I was wondering if we could bore it out and maybe fit an oversized bearing in there. So that he wouldn't have to buy a new hub. Let me know your guys' input on what to do.

"Spun" hubs are repaired by boring, then shrinking an insert into the bore.
You'll need to phone around where you live to find who does this.
Start by calling bike shops, even road bike places.
Its a pretty straightforward repair and not too expensive.
