:bang: Its things like this that makes me want to leave the place where it all started!!!!(so cal) Boumont city has put into place an order that will have anyone caught riding off the 60 hwy to inpound thier bike for a manditoy 90 days at $25.00 a day NO ACCEPTIONS!!! For us riders with ADD/ADHD riding a track is cool for about 2 hours then we goto sleep :( and you can only goto to Stoddard Wells and those places so many time. My point is that Boumout whas always changing and now these YUPPI F#%@( just can see that a kid riding is a kid off the streets and trouble!!!

That realy sucks, it is amazing how much they will let some people get away with. I mean what is it hurting out there to go and ride.

That means you just have to stay outside the city limits. County of Riverside doesn't have that code and the city can't enforce it in the county. Just have to go to the city and see where the city limits are. ;-)

that place is private property bottom line... if the owner doesn't want bikes on his /her land they have the right to not have people riding on it... Also makes you think that place has been a riding spot pretty much forever, and now it's a no go... In my opinion it's because of race pipes on four strokes, and lots more people ride now (since FMX and x-games)... Those four stroke race pipes can be heard from miles away and more people trying stuff they saw in Transworld MX getting banged up on private land, and other places that are not OHV areas... TWMX is always printing pics of Beaumont, and the clones go out and find these areas and ride them (can you blame them)... I know I'd love to find those spots to go ride they look fun... Plus with the gentrification of Beaumont, and many desert areas you'll find riding spots getting closed cause people moving out here want it quite and have endless amounts of cash or at least the developers that build these high end homes do... These people from other areas that move here just don't understand our desert culture, here kids ride dirt bikes, or do meth, there is'nt really anything else... Spots that you've ridden for years, now you have these laws being enforced for the first time or at a higher frequency... The spot off the 60 has always been illegal to ride, it's just now it's being enforced is all...

The area north of the 60 and south of the 10 near the river bed is county I believe. I think you are talking about the area south of the 60, where some of Crusty was filmed. That area is a no no from what I understand. The county area is where the sheriff's write tickies, then further east is where the Beaumont city limits are. That is also the area where the Riversie OHV park is supposed to be, soon??

This has been a long time coming. I heard the owners are tired of getting caught up in constant law suites from greedy individuals getting hurt and suing them.

It cant be closed!!

What up fellow drn'rs, I recently moved down to corona from the bay area, and was ecstatic about checking this area out, so my friend and I (who had ridden there 6 months ago) went out there today only to find the barbwire completely up along the side of the fway near the riverbed :bang: .
One of the main reasons I agreed with the wife to move down here was places like the B, but it looks like its only commando country now. Any suggestions for a respectable 2 stroke rider anxiously awaiting to get into them thar hills?

Before you ride, just call up Elk and borrow his bike. That way if it gets impounded, your bike is still good to go. :clue:

Or you could just buy 2 or three junkers and do the same thing. You could start a rotating bike schedule. :bang:

Seriously, this has been comimg for a long time. All we can do is fight the good fight and be active in our city counsel meetings.

I would suggest forgetting about them thar hills and head out to the Johnson/Anderson area, travel time from Corona is about the same or close too.

You can ride you can ride a 100 miles and never cross your track

Take a GPS though

Bottom line Guys, Riverside County has the nation’s largest Multi-Species habitat Management plan with their new 75 year Western Riverside County MSHCP. The plan will allow for private development through out the county providing an additional 153K acres of natural lands (areas we like to ride) be incorporated into the existing Reserve System (Skinner, Lake Mathews, Steel Peak, etc.). So most remaining Public Quasi Public lands in Riverside will be considered reserve or have reserve functions. The county will start or continue to enforce non-authorized vehicle access (if pressured by surrounding communities or organizations (env-groups)). Like Dante said, loud bikes are a killer for riding areas. I though the Potrero CDFG land/reserve deal was done, that would yield the new off-road park. I could be wrong on that though. Does anyone know about the new state riding area plan? As for the County Lands riding will be tricky in the future for sure. We use to ride the SanJac river area out off 215 by the airport and Canyon Lakes, but not anymore and that stuff is BLM, County, and City lands. I can remember the officers would drive through as we raced around just to make sure everything was in check. Now I hear you will get ticked if you go out. I myself have given up on the County and head to Ocotillo or the high desert, plus like others said running the 15 to the high county is easy and the trails are so sweet up that way.

On another rider vs. County note; I heard that Jeremy McGrath was under the gun for bulldozing the creek washes on his Aguanga Ranch track (USACE violations and such), but the County let him slide. If it were you or I the Fed’s would take us to the bank for sure. Maybe Jeremy and the other Pros/MX industry crew that call Riverside home need to step up to the plate for the little guys. Maybe they are/have, if so thanks goes out.

thanks all for the info. It is unfortunate there are powers out there stronger than the populus views and we end up suffering. I ve been out to El Mirage and had a blast, is Johnson/ AndersonValley anything like that or different? The Ocotillo trips already being planned, just waiting for the temps to drop.
Anyways, im looking forward to the new terrain out here, who is racing the Lake Elsinore G.P. this year? I ve got that on the calendar and will try and make that, (new kid on the way so it will be close).

Great Job RC, KW, IT

Johnson/Anderson Camp Rock road area are better than El Mirage in my opinion. Both zones have nice rocky goat trails and open running, but I like the CampRock area better. Plus less people and that's good when riding with the kids. Ocotillo is close for me, but I'd ride the high desert before driving out to the south. Ocotillo is OK, but it's not much on trails. It's more of a wide open ride, run the 15x45-47 for this one. Don't get me wrong running wide open is fun, but I like tight and technical trails myself. Octillo is nice for the family though with outhouses and palapas/camps.

Have fun which ever direction you go. Keep it safe if you run the GP, it looks fast and slick on that hill.

Where is the Johnson/Anderson camp? I recently rode El Mirage and was not impressed at all. I ride a lot out just off the 15, close to Silver lake (just north of Glen Helen). It is fun, but I have been there a ton lately and would love to go somewhere else. Big Bear is also fun but takes a while to get up the mountain.

I have even resorted to riding in the little Wildamar area a few times, but that area is so small, you really can't do it much more than a few times/year.

Out by Lucerne Valley, east of Lucerne on 247, then north on Camp Rock Rd. Look for a sign that says Johnson ValleyOHV Park

Anderson Dry Lake Camp N34 33.635 W116 46.602

National caliber Hare & Hounds are held out there, so the riding is good and legal

well Anderson definately sounds like an area I need to go ride. I was out off the 15 last week, some street right off to the right of the north bound lane. road the jeep trails 75% of the way to silver lake. decent single track, but not too much variety. I have some travel/work over the next few weeks, bringing the bike to ride hangtown, then Ill be ready to try out anderson when i get back. will post around then, and maybe see some of you out there. thanks again for the suggestions.

Off the 15--Dale Evans Pkwy turn left, go over the freeway and stage anywhere. If you go back far enough there is some decent riding and the trails are empty.

is the riding different on the EAST vs the WEST side of the I15, when you get off of Dale Evans PKWY?? I went and parked on the east side just as you get off the FWY, I think that is called "El Mirage"??. That area is kinda boring. is it better on the west side??

Like Kelsorat said, take the exit when heading north on I-15 and turn left at the top of the ramp (west) and go in. Off the dirt roads you'll find good trails running all over and in the areas where the big toy-haulers go there are some hills with good rock sections to get into. I think the right side of the 15 (east) side (Bell Mtn. area) is off limits.
