I've read that the "R" means it is a resistor spark plug. And this helps reduce EMI which can interfere with radio communications.

Here is my question...

Does it make a difference which I run on my bike? (I have a 1998 YZ 250.) The non-resistor plugs are cheaper and seeing as how they have less resistance I would think that on average they would foul less often. (Please refrain from the obligatory, "You wouldn't foul plugs if your bike was jetted right..." I know this and it is.) Is there any risks involved? ie. Could damage be done by running a non-resistor plug?

So what do you guys use and have you noticed any benefits of one over the other?

Thanks in advance! :thumb:

I never heard of anyone doing it but I heard that if you run a NON resistor plug, it could fry your CDI box. I also "heard" that the FCC wants everyone to run resistor plugs because it cuts down on radio interference. Can't say either one of those is true, but it can't hurt to run a resistor plug.
