Brand new bike - siezed motor

My buddy bought a new 05 KX 125 a few weeks ago. It's his first dirt bike and he's ridden it 3 times. Last weekend he fouled 2 plugs and today it siezed up after he'd been slowly riding around. It started surging and just locked up. This bike has never even been wound up and he's still running the stock mixture of 32:1. I looked at the bike and the first thing i noticed is a little spooge running down the silencer. Then I looked in the radiator and it was completely full, but there is some white foamy gunk in there. I'm thinking that an internal seal went bad and the oil mixed with water and the bike overheated causing it to sieze.
What do ya'll think?
Should he take it back?
Will the dealer fix it?

When purchasing a brand new bike and something that catastophic fails, it is usually a precursor to things to come, In other words, don't let them fix it, make them give you a completely new bike.

Good Luck with that approach. Would be a decent coup just to get them to fix the bike since they are sold with no warranty.

Yep you are right. He will have to call the dealer and if he can show that the bike was not abused and request a "good will" call from the dealer to Kawasaki USA, they may work with him. This is what Kawasaki says anyway. And we all know how that will probably go.

I think I'll stick to the used 2-cycles. I just don't like the idea of spending 6000 for a brand new 250 and no matter what happens, I am stuck with it.

Yes, everything was tip-top. That's why I can't understand why it locked up.
