113 octane racing fuel mixed 4:1 with 93 octane pump gas. Then mix 40:1 klotz. This is the best mixture I have discovered for my Cr500.

I dont know what year your bike is but if your carbs got that bolt on pilot jet main jet holder that bolts on with 2 torx screws the rubber gasket could have dried up but that would usually make it lean . my KXs ran 32/1 48 to 50 pilot 168 to 175 mail at sea level In NJ with fmf or PC pipes. I used to use purple yamalube . I did have another bike that was a YZ360 that ran alot better using MOTUL when that first came out it seemed to start better too.

We ran Maxima 927 at 32:1 in a CR 500. It burns clean and smells great. I'm told that 927 will separate from gas if temps are below freezing.

same mix here runs great 2005 cr500af

Finally someone blew off this 6 year old thread! But, klotz and custom fuel blending? Yuck! 927 and factory oil ratio is fine. Then fix the issue. This is how I will attack my 83 CR480. Which means, it will probably end up with a double head gasket, till I can send the top end to Forward Motion. Vintage Bob
