compression ratio is what were talking about here..
Look at it this way, does your engine knock with pump gas? No? then you don't need the 110.
If you run 110 right now, it won't do anything bad to your engine. But, you will not get any more power out of the engine. You also won't see any power increase if your engine was in perfect condition with race gas. Unless it was a high compression engine, requiring race gas.
When your engine is built for it, you don't get the power from running race gas, you get the power from the fact that engine is built to produce more power. Which requires you to run the race gas.
