Camaro and Firebird no more
Sorry I didn't get back to your question sooner,Okie, I was out winning another 1st place trophy for my RS. These cars are way more powerful than GM lets on. GM claims the Camaro and Firebird have 320 hp. The Firehawk claims 327hp. (this was for 1999 because that is what I own). My Hawk was put on a dyno with only 2000 miles on it and no mods. None. It made 315 rear wheel horsepower. Add 17% (the loss calculation for a 6 speed) and that translates to 368 at the crank. That is 41 more hp than GM claims. Now add that power, with traction, weight reduction and a good driver and you have yourself all the 12 sec. runs you want. It is all about the 60 ft times. Gotta hook up! Brenda If you are really interested in what these cars can do, check out LS1.com. There is a message board there and more information than you could want.
