Hi all,

I have a 03 CR250 comming on tuesday and being my first two smoke I have one question. Should oil and fuel be freshly mixed when filling the tank, or is it ok to go to the petrol station, put 20 litres in a can, put the oil in and use it during the week as needed? Of course I would shake up the can before putting fuel in the bike as I assume that the oil would seperate.

Is this the "done" thing or should oil and fuel always be freshly mixed?

Oh btw I wouldn't be planning on not using the fuel for any longer than a week

Thanks

Gas and oil mix is good for at least a couple of weeks. So only buy as much gas as you think you will use for this period.

There has been a post or two on this subject and two weeks is the longest I would "age" my mix. I prefer to buy just what I need for a ride, therefore it's always fresh, PM the "Mix Master's" , JayBird or Rich, for the full scoop.

Good Luck,

its not a just case of the oil going off, the longer you store any gas, the voltiles will evaporate.......... along with your throttle response!
