I have two bikes but my cousin is coming into town. Now I need three. I live in the DFW area. Is there any place that rents bikes for the day or the hour?

Sincerely,

Riz

I think you'd have a lot better luck trying to borrow a bike than to rent one.

BTW. Burleson is racing tomorrow if you want to check it out. Even if you don't want to race you can still practice for a while. Practice starts at 8am I believe and the gate fee is only $6. If you want to race, the 1st race cost $20 and $10 for each additional class entered. The dirt is soft and believe me, it doesn't hurt too bad when you fall.:o

Hi Jeff,

I think I am a couple of weeks away from Burleson. I have made it to Shady Grove twice. I stayed in the back on the kid track and the real back practicing whoops. You would not believe how slow I am. haha

I am trying to learn to corner fast and do the whoops fast. I figure going straight is the easy part and as far as jumping I jumped the little jump at the back and ate the bars.

I will figure it out. Would love to ride with you sometime. So you ever make it to Shady Grove?

How many people are usually at the Burleson track on Sundays.

Sincerely,

Riz

I've been probably 500' from Shady Grove once but I had trouble finding the place. Thump or Taraker one gave me directions since then but it's been a while and I really don't remember. Occasionally I get up that way during the week but I have nothing scheduled at the moment. One of these days...

Burleson usually doesn't have a really big turn out like most of the places I've been to, they usually combine classes and still the gates may not be full. The cool thing about Burleson is it's a short track and it doesn't take long to get around it, consequently even I can make all the laps and still have enough energy to make it back to the truck.;) It's the best track I've seen for a beginner

The facility opens at 7:00am and races usually over around or before noon. It's a good place to practice cornering (I'm very bad at that) and there are not any big jumps so no one is going to land on you if you aren't going fast enough. There is a mild whoop section but it can get you if not careful. I think you would like it when you decide to give it a try. Maybe you should come out and watch before you decide to ride it but you may as well bring your bike cause you'll probably change your mind when you get there.
BTW, I've seen one other girl race out there and she could blow most of the guys away, good thing I wasn't in her class.

Ya, they said to turn in by the "Chicken Ranch" or something:p As soon as I saw the sign that said hurry back to Texas I figured I must have made a mistake.:)
