The KDX is fine at the track to mess around on, but is more at home in the woods. If you think you are going to get serious about mx racing then get an mx bike.

for basic stuff, a stock kdx is a better mx'r than my restored 89 yz 125 (except on hard landings),,,i wouldnt try a super big jumps that scares most low level riders. but its cool...especially if you put in stiffer springs, turn your clickers in, and get stronger rims. watch out for super tight hairpin turns, its kinda top heavy...isnt there a guy name freddette? or someone who specializes in hoppin up kdx's? maybe you can talk to him about your spension and frame....
