I need some help with an apparent carb problem. 1991 DR 350-Bored to 400, bored carburator, supertrapp, oversize intake and exaust, K&N, seriousley opened up air box. I had this bike done a bunch of years ago, and it ran great, made tons of power, ect. After about a year I stopped riding it, and just recently began riding again.

Here is the problem. In a high demand situation, i.e. sand, at full throttle there is a major hickup, burbble, loss of power. Kind of like a dirty air filter. I put in a smaller main(50) jet even though it used to run fine on a 52(?) and it helped a little but did not solve the problem. I don't understand what has changed so dramaticly that causes this bike to run so poor on the top end.

Any tips or suggestions would be considered and appreciated

My guess is that it is the same bike that just sat for a long time? I think you should take the carb apart and clean it checking the float levels, needle and seat ,any and all orings or rubber seals.
