Has anybody else seen the carbon fiber WRM bike? It isn't all carbon, but the swingarm is, as well as part of the frame. Personally, I am not convinced that carbon is an appropriate material for a motocross machine, but it's still pretty cool.

A short description of the bike is on page 63 of the July 07 issue of Dirt Rider magazine, and apparently a rider named Cristian Beggi is riding one in the 2007 FIM Motocross MX1 class.

I believe in the new Indy Dealer pics that Rich posted there is a CRF of some sort with a Carbon Fibre Sub-frame.

This bike has an aluminum subframe to take the abuse that a subframe recieves (carbon will usually break before it bends). The inflexibility of CF is the reason that I doubt it's viability in an MX environment.

That's one of the bikes I was thinking about. But I remember seeing a picture of a CRF with a carbon fibre sub-frame. Wish I could find that pic again, was a cool sight.

Hmmm... motard, maybe but motocross, on that? not me, not yet anyway. That bike looks awsome but I think we will be with the alloys and aluminiums for a while yet, besides yamaha only just got their new frames out. I think the full CF's might be a bit out of everyone's price range at the moment anyway.

yeh i am reading the dirtbike rider article, it looks immense

Do you know you can get one for 22,000 euros? U actually have to spend a day with the engine designer, and only after this the specs required from the engine are finalished and it is built to get exactly what u what for that payload.

We will have to see if the carbon fibre and carbon kevlar hold up, although this is the sickest bike i have ever seen :yikes:

All frames used to be steel, aluminum was "never" going to work. Then we started seeing aluminum frames on GP bikes and the like, that trickled down to street bikes and next thing ya' know there are several aluminum MX chassis. I have no doubt we'll see some form of composite chassis in the next decade.
