Whats the best way to get carbon off of a cylinder head.

Use a rag soaked with engine oil and followed by some spray carb cleaner and clean rag. Or a low pressure glass bead blaster, be careful though to not hit the sealing surface of the head or you will be planing it. If the carbon is crusted, use a pocket knife carefully to get the big chunks loose.

There are other waysbut, I've always found these methods to be best.

I use a wire brush in my drill, oven cleaner works good too. Carb cleaner works, but is expensive. Scrape, scrape, scrape.
