I was wondering if you used a different cylinder from the year of the cdi unit would it work or would you damage something considering the the cylinder fits the base. thanks

I used my same cdi for my '98 KDX 200 for a '94 model engine when I swapped it ( kawasaki changed the engine in '95) and it works fine.

If there was a different combustion shape and compresion ratio and timing had to be significantly altered to suit it it might cause problems with pinging which could cause you some damage.

how is that for a definate maybe :eek:
