I do my own without a driver but sometimes it's a real pain. Try cleaning with the film, I use business cards. You need to keep the area between the dust seal and fork seal clean. If you get in sand or mud clean after riding, contact cleaner to get out the dirt, the film trick to get around the seal, blow air to get particles out and dry.
