I just went for a short ride on my KDX and was thinking about something. Why do you have to change oil everyother ride on a 2 stroke? Its not like a 4 stroke where its getting all the heat from combustion all its doing is lubing the gears. You can go 50000 miles on tranny fluid in a car or truck so why can you only go a couple rides on our 2 strokes?
Thanks
Chris

One reason is a lot of dirt bikers are pretty obsessive about taking care of their bikes. But there are a few big differences in how a 2 stroke dirt bike lives, compared to a car; one being you have a wet clutch on the bike, that gets hot and puts junk in the oil as it wears. Cars don't often get submerged in water or shift every 1.5 seconds.

dont change your oil.. after 2 or 3 rides, youll notice the gears and clutch slipping. then when you do change it it comes out all kinds of colors, all broken down.
