Cheap plug for jetting

I normally run a BR8EG in my 03 cr250. I am going to be doing a lot of jetting changes soon and dont want to go out and get a bunch of expensive plugs to do my plug chops. is there a cheaper plug I can run while I figure out all the settings?

Don't buy them from a dealer. I was paying $7 for a BR8EG until I called NAPA. They sell them for a little less than $3 a plug. The dealers seem to be doing a little price gouging.

well the BR8ES spark plugs near me are only $2.00 each at napa. Call me crazy but that aint to expensive to me

For plug reading, isn't it best to use a slightly used plug than a new one? You'll get a better color reading, so I'm told.

Hey thanks ill give napa a try. I know checker and autozone didnt have them only special order.

Nope, you can't get an accurate plug reading from anything but a new plug. If the plug is already colored you have no way of distinguishing between old and new. People assume that all old deposits will burn off, and it's just not true.

Jet on the cheap plugs and race on the good ones.
