If you live in a city with a major airport w/ a Forward Air terminal then it is probably cheaper. I had my bike shipped via Roadway trucking, $300 from Ill to Ca. delivered to my door step. (It was well worth it not to have to hassle with driving 4 hrs round trip, finding the terminal, going thru receiving and loading and securing it). Also on the shipping end - you have to deliver the bike to the Forward Air Terminal, while Roadway will pick it up! :)
