How do you properly adjust your clutch cable?I know you are supposed to have 2-4mm of play butthe only thing ive ever adjusted is the adjuster on the perch. What is the adj. on th cable for?THANKS
As long as your adjustment on the lever is that don't worry. If it moves beyond that, the problems start. Adjust for weakness as required, anything else means tearing into your clutch.
The bottom one adjust the cable itself for when you install a new clutch or an older one is gettin worn. You usually don't need to adjust that one at all once you set it up correctly. The upper one is for the freeplay on the lever. Don't have too much freeplay or it won't disengage all the way when you pull it in and don't have it too tight or the clutch won't let out all the way when releasing it.
I like to have as much thread engagement on the adjuster on the perch so it doesn't break off or stripp the threads. The adjuster in the cable lets you control how far out the perch adjuster has to be.
