I have a KTM 300EXC, I just found out that it has aluminum drive plates, I kind of figured a bike with this much power would have steel drive plates. I was thinking about getting the steel plates, but if I was in that far, why not just replace the friction plates too. Who makes a good aftermarket clutch for my bike? I know Moose Racing makes a kit, and I think Barnett makes a kit, at least they do for the 01'. I had a Barnett in my old KDX, and was very pleased with it. I've never pulled out a clutch before, I imagine it can't be that hard. Any thoughts on which clutch and installation tips?
Thanks Little Jeff

After MX:ing my -02 520 SX for 80 hours, the aluminium plates are still within .1 mm (the _whole stack_, so you would need a micrometer to measure wear on the individual plates) of the factory fresh spec.

However, the fiber plates are now about 1.6 mm per plate, so they have worn out about halfway to replacement.

Just FYI.

I just put the moose plates in my 90 KTM 250mx. So far I've only got one hare scramble and one practice ride on them but they seem to work fine.
