Nope, I actually think Barry was a great baseball player BEFORE he got juiced.

Have you ever taken steroids??? If not you have NO idea what it does for your strength, quickness, and healing time.

Sorry if I offended your hero.

Love Ya,

Charles Barkley

I hope so! Man its 4:30 am and I can't even sleep because of it. It's driving me :coocoo: J/K ! Being an ex NAIA college baseball player I hate to slam baseball, but its becoming a joke. Whats even funnier is some people actually believe that Barry isn't piping it in.<-----old school slang for shooting steroids in the buttock.Oh yeah, Barry isn't the only one.Have you seen Sammy Sosa? I can atleast tell you he's all natural now because he's just been hired to play the part in a movie called The Incredible Shrinking Man. :whoa:

Seriously RickyD, no hard feelings on my end.I didn't consider it bashing, it was just "constructive criticism." A lot of us here have been around for a long time, and we're going to disagree on subjects from time to time.

The reason I got to harping on the steroid subject it is because I used them from 1989-1993 (Winstrol,Deca-Durabolin,Clomid,Cyclofinil and prefered a 21 gauge needle)so I know that the "steroids doesn't help in baseball" is complete rubbish, and I also know that "I didn't know I was taking them is garbage." You know not only from a physical standpoint, but its also a mental standpoint that goes along with it.Its hard to explain in words what it does, and everybody has different side effects, but I can assure you IF anyone is on them they are quite aware of it. I've never been around anyone thats used them for several cycles that didn't see a hugh change physically, and mentally.

EDIT: From doing some searching it looks like Winstrol is also Barry's drug of chose.... its good to see he's not stacking though. <-------- old school for taking multiple steroids at once.

Didn't Bonds fail a lie detector test concerning his claim he didn't know he was using steroids? I thought I caught that during the special some news network had on him a few weeks ago...the one where he was crying on camera...

If it wasn't for the booze and broads, Babe Ruth would've set a record that even Hank Aaron couldn't match. McGwire decided to retire before his name was deleted from the record books. Of course we all know one of the games greatest, Pete Rose, will never get into the Baseball Hall of Fame simply because he like to wager a little on the side. Speaking of gambling, how 'bout those Chicago Black Sox?

Sorry, but every generation of baseball has had controversial players.

It's funny that these columnists and other Bonds fans say that it doesn't matter if he's juicin' or not... at least baseball is back and our minds are off political issues. It's that same mentality that says there are gray shades of right and wrong.

Bonds is a cheater. He used/uses drugs to better himself physically. We take medals away from snowboarders because they're on WEED (which doesn't do sh!t for physical ability) but it's okay for the pinata-head, overpaid, 'roid-using, fat "athletes" to break records while playing "America's Pasttime". Natural God-given talent is all any athlete needs to succeed. Look at RC, Bubba, Armstrong, Jordan, Kobe, Tiger, etc... all PHENOMENAL athletes that don't need illegal substances to be the best. What happened to sheer will, determination, 4titude, desire, honesty, THE LOVE OF THE SPORT?

IMO, you still have too hit the ball.
Certain steroids are known to increase hand eye coordination and improve reaction times. The two key ingredients to hitting a baseball.
rickyd said:
Baseball deep down probably encourages it.
Exactly right. Baseball encouraged steroid use by turning a blind eye to it. Bud Selig is a disgrace and is primarily to blame for destroying the game.

By the way, we know for a fact that Barry Bonds took steroids. The only debate is whether he did it knowingly. I have absolutely NO doubt that Bonds knowingly cheated. After all, his trainer and close friend was a big time steroid dealer and a major player in the whole BALCO scandal. It seems like every athlete in the country knew that if they needed steroids Barry Bonds friend Greg Anderson was the guy with whom they needed to talk. How could Barry be the only guy who didn't know?

We'll have to wait and see how it plays out. Right now Selig is just holding his breath hoping the grand jury indicts Bonds on perjury charges so he can do what he knows he needs to do- Strike Barry Bonds' name from the record books.

What the record book should say:
Single season home run record(162 games) Roger Maris-61
Single season home run record(154 games) Babe Ruth-60
Career home runs
1) Hank Aaron-755
2) Babe Ruth-714
3) Willie Mays-660

I haven't independently researched this myself. I'm just going by the testimony of the doctors and scientists from the World Anti-Doping Agency who testified at the congressional hearing on steroids in baseball(I watched the entire hearing).
