I recently tried out my friends 99 Gas Gas enduro with conventional paoli forks. The intial action was incredibly smooth and supple - no trace of stiction. Can inverted forks be made that smooth, or is it in the design of conventional forks to be smoother?
Cetain forks suffer from initial stiction/harshness-these include the KTM Wps std. However i rode a set of SXS forks that were modified using a bleed shim on the base valve and they were incredibly smooth on small bumps-the trade off was they didnt have much adjustment with the clicker.MY CR KYBS are fairly good but not as good as modified Showas-they too really smooth ripples out. Most forks can be made to work well.
