I had a base gasket leak first off. Pulled the cyclinder to replace and i noticed that the counterweights had some discoloration where the crank pin goes. I do not recall seeing this before. There is no up and down play in the crank and very little side to side play. I was really wondering if this was normal or not. The bike is a 2002 yz250 w/an FMF pipe and boyeson pro series reeds, other than that it is stock. I am also noticing some carbon in the intake not a lot just a very light "dusting".

Thanks in advance

The bluish discoloration on the crank is a normal part of the manufacturing process. It's nothing to worry about.

if it is not too late just see if you can look in the oil slots of the bearing to make sure the the bearing itself isn't blue to double check.
