CR250 cylinder interchangeability

Hi Guys:
I am trying to find out what year of CR250 jugs will interchange with the 94. Is there a better year jug to go to for replacement of this particular cylinder? I have been told that all the way to 2001 may fit. If this is so will I need to get all new powervalve parts too? ANY feedback would be greatly appreciated!

I would recommend either a '96 or 2001 jug and probably head and piston. at some point honda went from a domed piston to a flat top so you can't mix and match some of the hardware. As for the powervalve, I know that the '01 is different than the '96 vintage. You may be able to search the part numbers on service honda to determine if the powervalve parts are the same from year to year.
