I posted a while back about my 2000 CR250 not having any bottom end power, and I had some replies from guys saying to remove the inspection bolt on the left side of my cylinder and see if the power valve is stuck open. I checked tonight, and my valve is STUCK WIDE OPEN. Can anyone tell me how to adjust it?????? Thanks in advance!!!!!

Also, this engine was recently rebuilt, and I think the dude adjusted it wide open instead of fully closed........I don't think it's actually "stuck" but just adjusted wrong.

Get a manual for your bike, my zuki may be different. He may have put it together wrong. Mine is adjusted by the tension spring on the left side of the motor.

My guess is that when the engine was rebuilt, the linkage that runs through the bottom of the cylinder and into the inner clutch cover were not lined up correctly. The cylinder needs to be lifted off of the center cases about 3/8" to realign the 2 separate linkage rods. As a454elk said, get the manual to see exactly what needs to be done.

Darringer is correct. I have a 00 CR 250, and have made this mistake ONCE. After that, I have made damn sure to line this up properly. The cylinder will likely need to be lifted just slightly, and then re-align the fork with the shaft that operates the powervalve.
