Yesterday, while I was out riding, my dad filled his craftsman leaf blower up with straight gas, and ran it for about 10 minutes, and then it died. He tried to restart it, and there was no compression.
My dad had already decided he was going to just get a new leaf blower, so I decided to take a crack at it. All I had to do to get it running was to take the plug out, pour some pre mix oil in the plug hole, put the plug back in, and start it. When premix oil was in there, it had a ton of compression, after it started, it smoked really bad for a few seconds (burning off the premix oil) and now it runs perfectly fine.
I still put just a little extra oil in the gas though.
I'm sure its life was considerably shortened, but at least I may get a few months out of it!
