Is there any other way to diagnose a crank seal leak other than doing a leak down test? The only local shop that has a 2 stroke tester wants 80 bux (that is there freakin hour labor charge, rip off place) to do the simple test.

Thanks,
Nate

You could buy both of the seals and replace them for about $20, so if you suspect they are leaking, just change them!

Wouldn't that include taking the motor out of the bike and splitting the cases? I haven't looked at the manual yet, but if it does include that, even though i could do it myelf, i def. don't want to do it if it's not needed. Which seal would be the one to replace if the bike is running lean up top and not fouling plugs(as in it isn't sucking oil in from the tranny)? The seal on the side of the ignition coil correct? or could the tranny side still be bad?

Nope, you wouldn't have to split the cases for either side. All you have to do is pull the flywheel to change the LH crank seal. Make sure that you use some grease when you reinstall it.

Is it possible to pull the flywheel without messing with the timing, or would i have to readjust that and set it when i put the flywheel back on?

Pulling the flywheel will not change the timing.
