crf 250 to remove or not to remove ?

Just bought the 05 crf 250 and was told by the dealer to remove the screen on the inside of the air filter. I have since heard mixed results on doing it I plan on running twin air air filters and No-Toil filter oil. If I remove it will it wake up the bike alittle or should I leave it and jet around it. Any mods in particular I should consider ( I am planning on puting the White Bros exhaust on it) I mainly just ride the track.
Thanks in advance.

Rich says that there is no benefit to removing it, so I wouldn't!
BTW in case you are new to this site, Rich is ULTRA sensitive to performance.

Unless you can push the bike to its limit there is absolutely NO chance you will notice any improvement.

If you can push the bike to its limit you may *think* you are noticing an improvement but you aren't.

Focus on jetting the bike correctly and you will get the best performance possible.

I had an '04 CRF250, and removing the screen made a noticeable improvement. IMO, the screen is a CYA device designed to reduce Honda's liability exposure to owners who clean their filters w/ gas or similarly combustible substances.
