I'm 120 lb. & 5'8. I was thinking the CRF150 would be a good bike for me. I want a bike that jumps well, has good handling, & fits me well. What do you think?

KP, It's not a bad bike but I don't think you will be able to tell much difference between it and your XR100. The power is a bit more but if I remember the weight is also increased. Suspension is also going to be about the same.

I'm 5'4" and felt that the 150 was a pretty good fit. You might even feel more comfortable/less cramped on a 230. Plus, it has electric start. :)

You might want to look into a KDX200. A Honda 150 is not going to be a good bike for jumping. If you want a bike great for jumping, get a MX bike.

If you want to do alot of jumping, get a cr/yz/kx/rm/sx 125. For trails and alittle jumping, get a kdx/exc 200.I have ridden a crf150 and an xr100 and you might get bored from the power of the 150 pretty fast. Good luck on making the right choice

I think it would be PERFECT!! If you're doing trail riding; this is not a motocross bike but would be perfectly capable to go on a track but you shouldn't buy this if you are into motocross.

I bought a 2004 CRF150F this year as my first bike and I LOVE it!! I am exactly the same size as you (5'8" 120lbs.), I'm a girl and I don't know if you're a girl or not but it desn't really matter. The crf150 would be a great choice. Hope this helps, Ruth

PS it's true that if you're not a beginer you may find the 150 alittle less exciting than a larger bike, I've had mine for 3 months and also ride my dad's CRF230 half the time, but I do feel more in control and comfortable on my 150.

I'm 6'3" 200lbs and I ride my wife's CRF230 occasionally. I ride mostly MX on my YZ250 so I decided to take out the CRF230 too. It handled all the 30'-40' tables just fine as long as I cleared them which wasn't hard to do. I'm 200lbs so the stock suspension does absolutely nothing for me. Your only 120lbs so it should work for you. But it does jump just fine. But I would say strictly a play bike not a race bike.

24 hours ago i just went and sold my CRF230F. :( It was and awesome bike, and i really didn't want to rid of it. Im 150lbs, at 5' 11", and i had a blast riding it. The weight difference between the 230 and the 150 isn't that much, and you will may get bored of the 150's power pretty fast. The 230 is a fun jumping bike, and i have only bottomed it out on a few occasions. The bike can handle anything you throw at it, including trees ( which I found out personally :bang: ). As for the fit, go into your local honda dealer and sit on both models. Hope you enjoy the bike you choose to get, and remember, keep the rubber side down...

See ya in the trails

If you are strictly trail riding, the 150 would be a good bike, if you are a beginner. That said, if you want to race or do motocross, the KX100 would be a good choice. For trail riding only, you might also consider the CRF230F. It's pretty much the same as an XR200R, which I've found to be a great trail bike, and I've even raced it (and podiumed!).

ah! Personally, i would stay away from that 230, i myself found it waay to heavy, look at an xr 200/250 or maybe that new crf250x if money alows? :) any 80-100 2 stroke doesnt sound bad either
