There are two seals, an oil seal and a water seal, the weep passage is between them.  I'm calling the outer seal the water seal, and the inner one the oil seal.  If you have oil coming out of the weep hole the inner seal is bad, if you have coolant coming out of the weep hole the outer seal is bad.

The inner seal that keeps the oil in the motor is held in the cover behind the water pump bearing, so yes, you need to remove this bearing to replace that seal.  The outer seal can be replaced more easily, you don't even need to remove the cover, just remove the little pump cover and impeller and fish it out, be careful not to mar the surface of the impeller shaft.  Note which way the old seal is oriented, if you put the new one in facing the wrong way it will leak.  Make sure you grease the lip of the new seal or it may fail.

It is not totally unheard of for a new bike to leak coolant past the outer seal, sitting for long periods w/out operating may cause it to loosen up or something.  Point being, if it is a new bike and only dripping here and there it may correct itself.  If not this is a very simple fix, ten minute job tops.
