Ok lets see here: you could buy a performance exhaust for it, you can buy a performance air filter, you can possibly run a higher octane fuel in it. There are so many things you can do. As for making it louder do you really want to piss your neighbors off or something, but if you really want to you can take the baffling and spark arrester out (if equiped)...

150rguy, you ever think that some of us dont have the money to just go buy a new bike and besides if you bend your bars every time you ride then you must not buy very good bars.

Is there anything I can do to make my son's bike faster or at least loulder
Faster? Is he honestly riding it pinned all the time? There are options but it's still going to be a heavy beginner / pit bike no matter what. As far as louder? Yeah there are things you could do. Pull the core from the exhaust, just be sure to drain all the oil from the engine immediatly after you pull it and replace it with Wesson Lite cooking oil. Then to ensure that you get full benefit run it WFO up and down the street in front of your home for a minimum of 30 minutes.

If he is small enough get a KX65, if he's too big for that get him an 85 race bike. The 65 is definately faster than your 70.

To make a CRF70 "faster" will cost a bit of money. A new pipe, $150-$250. Complete bigbore kit; piston, cylinder, cam, carb $450-$600. Suspension upgrades....brake upgrades from drum to disk....these cost quite a bit. Oddly enough, some CRF50/70 pit bike upgrades use KX65 forks and breaks.

I think you will get the most for your money by selling your trail bike and getting a more performance oriented machine.

Good luck, Steve.
