I went to change the oil on my son's CRF-70.
This is the first time I've done this (he got it last summer).
So, I see what looks like the drain bolt on the left side of the bottom of the engine. I take it out, a little oil comes out (maybe 1/4 cup) along with a spring and a tube with some holes in it. I thik there was also some type of "cap" for the spring. Anyway, I put all that back together, then noticed the actual drain bolt. So, I finish up the oil change and all is well...I think.
What was the other one for, and is there something I need to do before starting the bike? I figure I'll kick it a bunch of times to make sure the system is primed. I'm just concerned that maybe I drained out the pump or something. The spring and tube assembly looked suspiciously like an oil filter bypass assembly.
Thanks.
