Yeah, as far as I know, you can cut it like normal tubing, it's just harder. You may have to buy a few blades for the 'saw, or they might make some for hardened metals. As for the tubing cutter, I wouldn't use one that's expensive to replace.
Tubing cutter might not do it... I would try a dremel type tool with a cutoff wheel if you think you can keep it straight on a line made with a sharpie.... Sawzall or Hacksaw would be my second choice...
If you use a hack saw, get a fine tooth, bi-metal blade. Available at your local hardware store. This is a hardened blade that will cut through most metals. The fine tooth keeps it from hanging up on the thin tubing.
In my experience, a tubing cutter actually works pretty good if you are only cutting thin wall titanium tubing. Plus it keeps the cut square.
The downside is, it will roll the edge of the cut inward a little. You will have to deburr the inside of the cut.
Thanks again, someone local also recommended taking it to a muffler shop and having them cut it with their plasma cutter? They said it is a precise cut, and should be a minimal charge.
The plasma arc will not leave buggers (not much anywho) but it won't be near as concentric a cut as a tube cutter. The plasma is handheld and the operator has to follow the lines.(ala cutting tourch) Cut is as good as he is.
Best cut will be if he can affix a donut around the pipe for the plasma tip to rest against while cutting.
