Silly question so forgive me. Do any of you have tips or advice on how to get the 2 o-rings back into the cylinder head? I took them out to clean the cylinder and cannot get them back in. They almost appear to be a little too large and end up with a bubble on one side that just won't go back down into the groove on the cylinder.

Am I correct in assuming that new rings would fit better? I would prefer to avoid that right now because the bike has already been torn apart for over a week waiting for a part and having to order these rings would cost me another week.

O-rings do sometimes expand, especially when exposed to gas. It might be wise to get a new pair.

And since most bike shops can't seem to have stuff like that on hand, might be wise to go ahead and order 2 sets..

This info don't help you because of the time needed but anyway:
Leave them apart for 1 week and they will take back their shape.

You can set them in the sun for a day and it will help to shrink them back down a good amount.

Also, applying a little vasoline to the oring can help hold it in place during assembly.

But in the end, new is the right thing to do.

Thanks for the advice. I know it is best to replace them, and I intend to do so, but was hoping to ride this week so I will try the other tips and see if that works for the short term.
