I just tore down 01 kdx 220 and found piston in good shap, i had no loss of compression but the cylinder has a chip on opposite side of exhaust on the thrust side. its a piece of plating missing, otherwise cylinder is in perfect condition. do you guys recomend bore and cast iron sleeve or replate procedure? i check rings and their is nothing missing.

Definetly REPLATE! Cast iron sleeves are old school technology; they don't transfer heat nearly as good as a plated aluminum bore, and they also wear alot faster (unless you get alot of dirty air in there.) Personally I reccommend Langcourt (langcourt.com), they do an awesome job for pretty cheap. Alot of bike shops across the country uses this place.
