Looking for any of you guys that have had jug repair conducted in Canada including boring, welding and replating.

I have found two shops:
http://www.mongoosemachine.com/cylinder-plating.htm
http://www.atelieradrienbernard.com/contenu/index_ang.cfm

My bike is a 2001 KX500. There is some cracking in the cylinder exhaust ports.

I've also made a post in Eric Gorrs forums as it might be technically and economically feasible to just send it to him and be done with it as his costs seems to be include every thing you could imagine for the same price or less that I can get the work done in Canada for.

Any input would be appreciated?

We have a local company here in Manitoba that the name escapes me at the moment. Results from some racers I know have been mixed. We sent our last one to USChrome (Same company Eric uses) through our local mechanic and it was done top notch and relatively fast although this is likely a very busy time of year. I would likely send it to Eric, let him repair the cylinder and send it off to USChrome for the replating.

I'm waiting for eric gorr to reply to my post in his forum. I prefer to send it to him plus what he will charge will be the same or even less than I can get this done in canada for with a fresh top end kit inlcuded with gaskets and the mobetter porting and a cylinder that has been hand preped!

Thanks for the replies guys, lost of track of this one. Mr. Gorr now has my complete top end, hopfully it can be repaired if not its extra $$ I'll have to through at it.........what r ya going to do right.

I just hope those areas are accessible for a decent repair job. A Sleeve is just out of the question for me.
