My wife got us four tickets to the SX for my Christmas present. We will be leaving on Friday and going about halfway down, then cruising in the rest of the way Saturday. Since this will be our first SX, fill me in on the procedure.

BigLou and I are in. I may add two additional tickets to my order. Let me know and I'll get the funds on the way to the right place.
I'll take 3 tickets plus Lou = 4.

Hey Jerry-We're probably going to ride at Nocona on Sunday, you should see if you can bring the bike(s). Also, you need to join us in the parking lot for some tailgating Saturday. It's legendary! I'll make sure you have cell phone #'s so you can get in touch with me and/or Swift once we're on the road.

If the Reno trip falls through due to weather, I'll have some leftover vacation days to take so we won't have to leave at noon from Nocona and can get a full day's riding in. I love that track!

The Sunday ride sure sounds like fun, but once again the gremlin of work raises it's ugly head. I'm going to be lucky to get the time off to go to the SX. We will have to leave in good time Sunday to get back home. Thanks for the invite, though. We should be able to hit the tailgate gathering. Anybody know of any hotels/motels that would be good to stay at?
Thanks in advance.
Jerry

Sever good places in Las Colinas area. We typically always stay at the Somerfield Suites which started when Twinkle got me the hookup through Wyndham. Since he's not there anymore we're still staying there because it's nice and still a good deal for the suite. Also less expensive options in the same vacinity would be Harvey Inn and Harvey Suites, I also think there is a Marriott and Best Western or Comfor/Quality Inn which were fine when we made the overnight stay for Thump & Hot Pant's wedding.

Thanks Patman. I will have the co-pilot check some of those out. What's the time frame of the weekend i.e. practices, when can you get close the riders, etc.

Summerfield <---- (notice the correct spelling Patty) Suites is the best extended stay product out there. Wish I had a hookup for you all... but it's a thing of the past. :(

Well pardon my spelling but since I don't scrub their toilets I'm not really familiar with the way the spell it on the TP wrapper :p Times were good when Twinkle had the hookup, we got a spare bar of hand soap and complimentary shampoo every other day plus they even put on clean sheets after we checked out! :yikes:

Saturday afternoon is when the pits are open and you can see practice and the riders. Most have a scheduled autograph time but most will sign a few here and there if you catch them. Some of the local shops also have the riders appear on Friday night which used to be great but seems to be really crowded these days. Several years ago we ran in to Fro' at a Kawi shop and he picked my son up and carried him around for a good 30 mintues. Introduced him to this little red head 125 rider who we got a picture with incase he ever became somebody. Yes it was THAT red headed Kawi 125 ride from Florida. Freakin' Fro' Daddy gave him a Shift Girl calander with a rating sticker on it THEN though maybe it wasn't a good idea but there was no getting it back so it hung in the garage for years. Every day we came home he point at it and say "Jeff gave me that.". MC was the same way but popularity sort of makes it tough for those guys to really be that way these days. Now it's all about long lines and tickets just to hopefully get them to ink something (One item only please). You can see it in both of their eyes that THIS was good times huh? http://dirtrider.net/teamdrn/showphoto.php/photo/286/sort/1/cat/500/page/2

So it's looking like maybe we all do our own tickets and then hook up on the asphalt?

Jerry-I think we are usually in the parking lot between 11-12 on Saturday, cookin' and hanging out. You can go in to watch practice, come back out and grab a burger off the grill, etc. It's amazingly laid back and a great time. Once the qualifiers and heats start, everyone's usually inside for the remainder of the program.

We should be in, but it will come down to closer to race weekend before we're sure whether or not. I don't really know what my school schedule will be in April.

Does anybody going to the Houston SX? Kristy and I were talking about going on a whim if we don't have much going on that weekend.

Powder-puff class. That's funny.

Even funnier is taraker's message... Not sure what's he's trying to say... but that's nothing new for anybody that knows yardraker.

Powered Puffs are the secret to my speed, stamina, and agility. Do NOT consume more than 2 per day though as there may be adverse reactions...

Jerry:

Too bad you can't make the ride on Sunday. Springtime in Texas makes you want to pack up and move here (maybe that is why there is sooooo much darn traffic).

The last couple of years have proven to be fun and in true NTSP style, we try and grow it a bit each year. This year I am planning on bringing a spatula to flip the burgers with so we don't have to smash a beer can and ram it on a screw driver. :bang: :pissed: :)

There are a bunch of places to stay, but I would agree with Twinnie. Parts of the area have gone to seed, if you know what I mean.

I thought a power puff was the extra 'boost' you get when riding after eating lots of messcan food. Almost like a jet-propulsion technique.

Is anyone riding Muenster that weekend? Last year a large group of us rode Firday, Saturday, and Sunday.
