I have a small parts washer, that I use strickly for air filter cleaning, I normally just toss them all in at once and start washing one by one.....Well yesterday I went to wash three of them, and noticed little black specs in yellow foam, I continued cleaning, then I took them to the sink do do the soapy water wash, and those black spots were really bugging me, then I rinsed them out, and they were still there, then I put them infront of the fan to dry them out....and sure enough those specs were still there.......I grabbed some tweezers, and grabbed a black spot, and sure enough....METAL SHAVINGS.......GRRRRRRRR, Someone must have washed something in my washer, and I was dumb enough not to check......I have managed to clean all the black spots out, with a shop vac, tweezers, and a bit of time, but my question is.....?
Should I throw these filters out immediatly, and buy new ones? Is it possible that I managed to get all the metal shavings out of the finer inside foam? Would you personally use an airfilter that you know had metal shavings in it at one point in time?

The reason im asking is these filters still have good life left in them......
