I saw this in one of the threads; but perhaps better to start a new one.
Diet drinks (sodie-pops) Good? Bad? Evil?

they're low calorie, which is a plus if you count calories religiously. I like them, but being a diabetic that's pretty much what I'm limited to. I've noticed one thing though, they taste a lot better than regular pop does on a hot day.

I wonder where Zio is to hear this thread

I think that Saccharin has been taken off the list of known cancer causing agents so I can't think of any reason why they would be dangerous. A new artificial sweetener is going to be introduced into alot of the diet sodas soon that tastes much better than the current sweeteners (usually aspartame). The new one is called sucralose and it is already being used in Diet-Rite soda, which I find tastes much better than diet coke or pepsi.

Most diet sodas (pop) contain asprtaine (sp?) and the side affects of this stuff can bad if you drink tons of it. My wife drank it all the time but suffered from major headaches. Once she stopped, the headaches went away. There are other side affects that I don't recall but I will post it if I find it.

If you want fewer calories try water or water with a wedge of lemon for flavor.
