Hi Rob , Howsit goin? Yeah ive had springs rearched on trucks & cars before, I gotta admit that Ive lowered a few cars in my day by cutting springs or heating coils while stressed. Kinda seems ok to me for a truck or old car . Ive freshened various types of little springs like small carby springs and small shock check ball springs and stuff but never tried fork springs . Ive never stretched out fork springs before , I guess Im just a bit scared of the violence that can unleash inside a fork if one fails. Ever see the old 92 or so KX damper rods break ? Thats a gnarly sight too. As for fork springs, Ive seen only one or two break and they were on older Honda gold wings or WP forks, or maybe they were older forks with the aftermarket WP springs. Yeah I guess the powder coat heating could be a definite issue too, it sure looks good . Funny thing about wheels , They never come back from the chrome shop the same either . The wheels sometimes seem to need alot more weight when balancing I guess its the uneven distribution of the coating. So you get shiny wheels that need weights that needed no weight before. Ive chromed complete shock assys before (disassembled) carb bodies, brake calipers . Some people just love the bling bling.
