Just stumbled across a MTB forum called Ridemonkey.com. Looks like it's been in existence since mid-2001. The post counts for the members are unreal...some are approaching 10,000!!! Something like 15-20 posts per day, on average. And I thought I killed a lot of time on message boards....

Actually of the 3-4 BBs that I visit this board is BY FAR the slowest. The posts per member is the lowest I have ever seen on a BB.

For some reason you guys have a boatload of non posting members.

To put it in numbers a friend started a BB one year ago exactly and its 100 or so members have made roughly 20,000 posts in that time for a ratio of about 200 posts per member per year

Here that number is about 18.5 posts per member since this site started multiple years ago.

Big difference.

No, I don't work for Cannondale. I work for a Bike Shop and we're one of their top dealers. I actually just got back from a Cannondale Clinic and all is well at least in the Bicycle side of thing. They've already got some pretty cool stuff coming down the line. Their big response is "Harley Davidson filed Chapter 11 too" ha ha.. ;)

While there are some excellent posts here I was actually surprised on the lack of information here concidering the members.

For example there is a lot less info on jetting then I had hoped for.

You also don't see a lot of bike specific information ie. I have a 1999 RM250 and I have done this and that, this works, I use this jetting, etc. etc.

There is also no Dirt Bike guide like the much smaller Georgia Offroad website has. Most here slam the magazine reviews but bikes reviews, especially bikes older then a year or 2 old are few and far between.

There was also almost no info on compression listed here which shocked me since every major repair manual refers to compression testing.

So while there is a lot of good info listed there is certainly less than I expected concidering the membership numbers.

Really ???

And just what question did you have that went un-answered??

DRN has some of the most knowledgeable people from the motorcycle industry who regularly participate on a daily bases.

If you have a question you have to ask.

lack of info on jetting???? Last time I did a search it came up with enough info to keep me busy reading for days :thumb:

I think some people don't realize that the posts/pages of posts you see is a very small amount of the total.

For example when I go to the Mods & Performance forum I see but 1 page. Go down to the bottom right corner and change "Order From" (last day) to (beginning), hit the GO button and now there are 61 pages. That doesn't include the Basic Q & A, KDX, KTM, 2-stroke, 4-stroke etc etc etc forums full of info.

Perhaps Geoff is basing his observations on content searches he has tried over the past few days. If so, I don't believe that the search functionality is working like it did before the DB crash a few days ago.

Perhaps Okie is aware of this and is still working on a fix.

Food for thought Geoff...

Thems fightin wurds.......... :flame:
Geoff I have to say that I've had every question(presented in an intellectual manner),god I hope I spelled that right.....I've asked answered w/more than an educated response. We have several suspension whizz's as well as profesionals, mutiple engine tuners,a nutreintion and health professional, as well as columns devoted to specific motor designs and brands(Thumper forum, KX,RM,YZ,CR two stroke forum, KTM,eurobikes forum) I'd have to strongly disagree w/you on not having responses to your questions. Granted I have noticed that some questions just never catch on, but most questions w/some substinance to them are answered pretty quickly. Not flaming on ya Geoff I just think you should do alittle more research before you make a statement like that.
