I have a 1994 RM250 and just recently i have found out the front brakes are draging :whiner: .I cant figure out why either.I'm not sure if i have to change the brake fluid or if i have a piston thats stuck? If anyone has any suggestions and would like to share them with me i would really apreciate it.

if you can hear it draging but it still spins that is not anything out of the ordnary. they usualy make a little noise when spining seeing they are pads and they are resting against the rotor.

It may be that you installed the bearing wrong or something do this take the caliper off the bike so it has no contact with the rotor. then try to spin the wheel while the bike is on the stand if it still feels hard or just not right then you know that it is not the break. i would first check that bearing you installed. Did it do this before the bearing was installed or after. thats all i got man just try that stuff :thumb:

It's also not a bad idea to take the caliper off and clean and grease the pins that it slides on-or even replace them if they are real pitted etc,..Also dont forget to clean the little groove thatsplits the braking material in each pad--they get a lot of build up in there.Changing your fluid is a good idea-if it's not clear in color then it's got some moisture in it,as they all do with time/use,.Those type's of things goet overlooked on a lot of bikes and is what usually makes the difference between an old bike still working great-or turning into a wreck, that needs way too much $$ into it to bring it back.

Yeah that's probably the best way to go..that way you know it's all new. After 11 years,it's good to replace certain things..such as those..to ensure it's in tip-top shape.
My KX250 was a '93,after all the 're-vamping' I did to it,everyone thought it was much newer, and I got top $$ for it when I sold it.
I love to see an older bike that's been well maintained-yours sounds pretty nice!
Hope you get the 'gremlin' out of it.
Best time of the year for it right now---nothin' but down time up here in northern NY!
