I'm trying to email a thread and it states that I don't have access. Is this true. Why can't I?

What do you mean by "emailing a thread".

If I hit the icon above the first thread to email the thread I get an "access denied" type of error.

Hmmmm..... works for me. May be related to your skin selection (I use Bright - Ad Free), or subscription type.
