engine mods for 2 strokes

what modifications can be done to a 2 stroke to make the engine perform more horse power. besides some reeds and a pipe and silencer and boring it out?

I didnt know porting was fuel specific. I thought the head mods generally performed along with porting were what required race fuel(i.e. higher compression).

It can be, changing the position of the ports in the cylinder changes the effective compression ratio. It can also change the volumetric efficiency which has an effect on compression pressures. I also tend to glob cylinder and cylinder head work in with porting. Those can have huge effects on octane requirements.
