Engine questions parts meshing

I need to get a new one of these http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/oem-parts/YAMAHA/2001/YZ125/CRANKCASE-COVER-1

and my friend has a 1998 yz125, my bike is a 2001 he is parting out his and I am wondering if they will work. I'm figuring they are the same engine almost.

Just compare the PNs between the 2 years to see if it's the same...so I did for you and the PNs are the same.
