Fay Meyers motorcycleworld, probably the biggest dealer in the Denver area burned to the ground today. Estimated 600 bikes and A T V's plus the 7,000 sq ft parts and access dept. were a total loss. Fay Meyers has been in place since the 1950's

Fay was the major Honda, Suzuki, Aprillia KTM dealer in town.

The upper level had probably 150-200 street bikes on the showroom and the lower lever another 150-200 dirtbikes and q u a d s.

Early estimates say 10 million dollar inventory lost.

No word as to cause. Probably ignition from the service dept.:ugg: :ugg: :ugg:

Major downer. I was just there a few weeks ago when I was in Denver. FM had the best accessory dept of any dealership I've ever visited. I hope they rebuild.

Looking at the picture, it looks like the service dept. may have been saved.
the building to the lower right is the service area so hopefully any bikes in for service may be OK.

But this shoots the theory about the fire starting in the combustables in the shop!

The place was not yet open for bisiuness so I think no body was hurt:)

I saw that place in MountainBike magazine a few months back listed as the coolest M/C shop around. They sell Duccatis, don't they? There were a few pix of the place, too. Blew any shop I've ever seen around here out of the water for style. This is too bad.

Hang in there folks. We ride street pretty regularly with a guy who works in parts and takes care of their computer system. He said they already have a new server ordered and on it's way. The backup tapes were safe. He's gonna spend next week rebuilding the system and they're looking for a temporary locations to hold the bikes/gear that were stored in the offsite warehouse, which is actually quite a lot. They will be ordering new parts soon and rebuilding as soon as possible. He was guessing that the bike loss count was more like 500 :( and that their will probably be some short term job loss, but the good thing is that nobody got hurt.

Nope, they're in Denver (albeit the west side of Denver)

Not sure what you mean by "biker trash stuff" but it was not a Harley shop.

They sold tons of gear and had a fab. parts dept.

I keep thinking about the two shiny new CRF's sitting on the showroom floor:( :( :(

But Like CJ said, they'll be back (hopefully in a new location with more parking!):)
