Well today was the first of riding and it was great. First off, it was my first ride on my 2001 cr125 and back riding from a 15 year hiatus. Man, I missed riding. Plus, my oldest son is on his kx65 which was his first time. Did pretty good after he got the hang of starting and using the clutch/shifting etc. My youngest son tried to ride his crf50 but wanted to "ride" the throttle too much so he sat out most of the time. I think he was a little scared but I'm sure he'll come around. Just wanted to share my day with all of you. I can't wait to get out again. It was all coming back to me in the three hours we spent out today. Bummer to the end of the day though. I washed my son's bike and was washing mine when the unexpected happened. I have a tri-stand on the back axle and when I switched sides my back started to lean over and CRASH! right on the driveway. Broken clutch lever. DAMN! :bang: Oh well, had to go to Iron Pony anyhow. Clutch and brake levers are now on the list too!
lol, same thing happened to me when washing mine the first time. I bought 2 extra cheap lever/perch combos and was thinking about getting one of those sunline perches that swivel, then my dad suggested I loosen my perch and use some loctite on the bolts; next week I lo-sided at the track after the water truck went around (hard red clay is like cement around here) and my lever is loose, but not broken! Glad to here you're back in the saddle.
Welcome back, enjoy watching your boys progress on the bikes, before long, they will be waitin for you
As mentioned, loosen up your perches some, that way when one of you fall, hopefully the perch will rotate
