"Sergeant First Class Paul R. Smith of Tampa, Florida became the first person to receive the MOH for actions in Iraq. Check it out at the Army homepage. They really put together a nice piece about it. It includes his citation, biography, the sequence of events, a personal photo album, and a flash animation detailing what happened. Unfortunately, SFC Smith was awarded the medal posthumously.

I'm not trying to start a political thread here, just relating the actions of one brave American. Reading all the info and looking at the pictures, I really get the feeling he was a great guy who loved his Soldiers and died doing everything he could to protect them."
