Hi there.

Just a thought.
If the purpose of a 2T oil is to lubricate the internals, why would anyone want an oil with a low flash point? Ie. Mobil MX2T 170F

I hear castor oil protects very well (Maxima Castor 927 440F) but
burns "dirty".

I assume that a low flash point oil will burn off completely and a high flash point oil will not burn off. (kind of stupid...)

Does the 2T oil gets burn up at totally along with the gasoline? Or only the gasoline burns off and the 2T oil is discharged via the exhaust port?

So does it mean lower flash point equals less protection/better burning and a high flash point oil equals better protection/dirtier burning????

PS. How does a castor oil smells???

Once the oil has reached the combustion chamber, there is nothing to lubricate. At this point, you want the oil to burn so you aren't blowing it out the exhaust and coating the power-valves with gunk.

Keep in mind that oil like gas is made up of various components that ignite at various temps. The flash point is the temp at which the most flamable of these components ignites. Just because MX2T does not have a ultra high flash point doesnt meen its not up to the task of protecting engine internals. The fact remains however than some base stocks such as polyol esters and castor burn at much higher temps. This can cause spooge and deposits if the engine is not loaded enough( heat) to combust them.
