Hey John, Bought this bike from Gatorkdx about three months ago. It's a 1990 kdx 200. The top end had been done just prior to purchase. It has stock 13/47 gearing and Michelin s12's fr and rr. The power---it's all in the jetting. It has a pc pipe and silencer, Boyesen reeds, no airbox lid and intake completely sealed w/blue rtv and a good clean air filter. When I first started working on this thing it had a stock needle valve, 150 main and 45 pilot---ran for $hit. WOT was all it would do and spooging like a Texas oil well. Had pilots on hand 35,38,40,42 and needles(Sudco) bel, bem, cel, cek and 148, 152 mains. Took about two weekends to get it right(a couple hours per). The carb is stock and spotless. Current jetting is 38 pilot, cel top clip and 152 main. From idle to WOT this thing pulls like a mofo. Have to be careful on hard ground--like yesterday on the grass--'cause there's no wheel spin. The bike will stand straight up in the first four gears using throttle alone, even with my fat 190 pounds sitting as far forward as the seat allows. What are you running and how is it set up! When you get the jetting dialed in it's a whole new bike. Kinda like listening to a clock radio and then sitting in the sweet spot with a nice stereo system----NO comparison!!! PM me if you want to talk off the board at jay.cicone@raymondjames.com. Thanks for the response.
